Saginaw Timber #2 gets some time in the shop by PRR8157 Saginaw Timber #2 gets some time in the shop by PRR8157
Before testing and breaking in at the end of April 2016, some last minute adjustments and other work are being performed so that everything will be ready.

Update:  No approval has come from the board of directors, so the operation of Saginaw Timber #2 at Mid-Continent Railway Museum will be postponed indefinitely.  An active steam locomotive would draw a lot of people, so it is unclear why the board is delaying things.  Meanwhile the clock is ticking away the boiler time of the #2.

At first glimpse, I though she had a sheet metal pilot, but I realize it's a tarp.
I'm hoping to see her this year.

The pilot is varnished oak, and the cover helps preserve it.  I know because I rebuilt and varnished it.
